Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 2026
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of MidCheck.co (“MidCheck”, “we”, “us”, “our” or the “Platform”).
By accessing or using MidCheck, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Platform.
1. About MidCheck
MidCheck is a document-status and verification platform.
The Platform allows users to check whether certain documents or cover notes recorded within participating systems are currently shown as active, expired, invalid or otherwise recorded within our systems.
MidCheck is intended primarily as a convenient way for users to check the status of documents associated with supported platforms.
MidCheck does not itself issue financial products or provide regulated financial services.
2. AI-Generated Documents
Some documents that can be checked through MidCheck may have been created or generated using artificial intelligence, automated document-generation software, templates or other digital tools.
A document appearing as “Active” on MidCheck only means that the relevant document is recorded as active within the connected or participating system at the time the check is performed.
An “Active”, “Valid”, “Verified” or similar status displayed by MidCheck must not be interpreted as independent confirmation that the document:
- has been issued by a government authority or regulated institution;
- provides any particular legal right, entitlement or regulated protection;
- has been independently authenticated by MidCheck;
- is accepted by any third party, authority, organisation or institution; or
- is suitable for a particular legal, financial, regulatory or official purpose.
Users remain responsible for understanding the nature and intended purpose of their documents.
3. FCA & Regulatory Status
MidCheck is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
MidCheck does not provide financial advice, regulated financial advice, brokerage services or other regulated financial services through its document-status checking functionality.
Nothing displayed on MidCheck should be interpreted as FCA authorisation, approval, endorsement or regulation.
The appearance of a document or cover note within MidCheck does not mean that the FCA or any other regulatory authority has approved, authorised or endorsed that document.
4. Personal Document Status Checking
MidCheck is provided as a document-status checking service primarily for personal and informational use.
The purpose of the Platform is to allow a user to determine whether a supported document is currently recorded within our connected systems and, where available, view basic information associated with that record.
MidCheck should not be treated as a substitute for verification directly with any relevant authority, regulated provider, institution or other third party where independent verification is required.
5. Cover Notes
MidCheck may allow users to search for and verify the status of a cover note.
Where a cover note is displayed as active, this means only that the relevant record is currently marked as active within the system from which MidCheck receives its information.
MidCheck does not independently guarantee the legal effect, acceptance, regulatory status or suitability of a cover note.
6. Status Information
MidCheck may display statuses including:
- Active — the document is currently recorded as active within the relevant system.
- Expired — the document was previously recorded but its recorded validity period has ended.
- Invalid / No Record Found — MidCheck cannot locate a matching supported record or the information entered does not correspond with a record available to the Platform.
Status information is based on the information available to MidCheck at the time of the search.
There may be delays, technical errors, incorrect information or temporary availability issues.
7. No Third-Party or Government Affiliation
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, MidCheck is an independent platform.
MidCheck must not be interpreted as being operated by, affiliated with, endorsed by or officially connected with the FCA, UK Government, DVLA, Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB), police or any other regulator, authority or third-party organisation.
Any similarity in general functionality or industry-standard interface conventions does not indicate affiliation.
8. Prohibited Use
You must not use MidCheck or information obtained through MidCheck:
- fraudulently;
- to misrepresent the nature or status of a document;
- to impersonate another person;
- to deceive a third party;
- to alter or manipulate verification results;
- to falsely claim regulatory or governmental approval;
- to access information you are not authorised to access;
- to interfere with or attempt to compromise the Platform;
- for any unlawful purpose.
We may restrict or terminate access where we reasonably suspect misuse.
9. User Responsibility
You are responsible for:
- entering accurate information;
- checking that the document being searched belongs to you or that you have appropriate permission to perform the search;
- reviewing the underlying document;
- determining whether additional independent verification is required; and
- using MidCheck lawfully.
A MidCheck result should not be relied upon where the law or another organisation requires verification from a particular official or regulated source.
10. Accuracy & Availability
We aim to keep MidCheck accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Information may occasionally be delayed, incomplete or temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, third-party systems, connectivity problems or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where appropriate, users should independently verify important information before relying upon it.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MidCheck will not be responsible for losses arising solely from a user’s misuse of the Platform, unauthorised use of a document, reliance on information contrary to these Terms, or circumstances outside MidCheck’s reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer protection law.
12. Privacy & Data
MidCheck may process information required to perform document-status checks, operate the Platform, prevent abuse and maintain security.
Personal information must be handled in accordance with MidCheck’s Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection requirements.
Only information reasonably necessary for the relevant functionality should be collected and displayed.
13. Intellectual Property
The MidCheck name, branding, interface, software, content and original materials are owned by or licensed to MidCheck unless otherwise stated.
Users may not copy, reproduce, commercially exploit or redistribute protected MidCheck materials without permission.
14. Changes to the Platform
We may update, modify, suspend or discontinue parts of MidCheck where reasonably necessary.
We may also update these Terms from time to time. The latest version published on MidCheck.co will apply from its stated effective date, subject to applicable law.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the entity operating MidCheck and the jurisdiction stated in the Platform’s legal information.
Nothing in these Terms removes any mandatory rights that a consumer may have under applicable law.
Important Notice
MidCheck is a document-status checking platform.
MidCheck is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Some supported documents may be created using AI, automated systems or document templates.
A document appearing as “Active” or “Verified” on MidCheck means that it is recorded with that status within the relevant connected system. It does not, by itself, establish regulatory approval, government recognition, third-party acceptance or any particular legal entitlement.
MidCheck is intended primarily for personal and informational document-status checking.
